Early cherry blossoms in Japan
Japan is known for its unusual tradition called khanami, which is an admiration for the spring flowering of cherry trees. However, Japanese cherry blooms not only in spring. In one Japanese city khanami starts in the middle-end of February. This is a unique phenomenon attracting a lot of tourists to the city from all over Japan, as well as from other countries of the world.
The spring came earlier than usual to the Japanese city of Kawazu located near Tokyo.
The trees are illuminated and reflected in the waters of the Izu Peninsula at night time, which makes it an amazing and beautiful sight.
Typically, Japanese cherry, known as cherry blossom that blooms in late March or early April.
But Kawazu city is known for its early flowering of the cherry blossom.
About a million tourists come here to admire the romantic landscapes of the blossoming city annually.
This small locomotive carries passengers on a journey, during which they enjoy fragrant scents and a variety of shades of cherry blossoms.
The city of Kawazu is located on the Izu peninsula, two hours from Tokyo station by train.
Japanese sparrows fly here to taste sweet cherry nectar.
