Ain Sefra is often called the gateway to the Sahara. It is easy to guess that the Algerian territory is infamous for its severe cold spells and snowy winters. There was a snowfall in the largest desert of the Sahara. Therefore, the snow precipitation for locals was something incredible. To help you understand, the Mediterranean coast is only a couple of hundred kilometers away from the desert. Of course, the snowfall is not entirely uncommon phenomenon that occurred throughout the millennium. Four years ago there was snowfall for half an hour, but it was getting melted at once. There was no such a heavy snow for the last forty years. An amateur photographer named Karim Bouchetata managed to capture this wonderful event for one of the driest places on the planet.
