The Fujifi lm X-H1 is the newest edition to the company’s popular X-series line-up. It features a 24MP X Trans sensor that is identical to the X-T2. It features 5-axis in-body image stabilisation (rated at 5EV), a 3.69M-dot OLED viewfi nder, a 3-inch touch sensitive rear LCD with two-axis tilt, and an ISO range of 200-12,800 (can be extended to 100-51,200). Regardless of the similar sensor and processor, Fujifi lm claims the camera displays enhanced video performance, and a better AF system, which can focus in low light conditions and with smaller apertures. X-H1 is the fi rst camera in the X-series to include the ETERNA fi lm simulation mode for shooting movies. It can shoot UHD 4K at up to 30p, DCI 4K capture at 23.97p and 24p, and can record F-Log footage internally. The enhanced compression option allows one to record video at up to 200 Mbps. Fujifi lm has also introduced a Movie Silent Control mode, that allows to switch between video and photography.

Liquid Lake Mountain – Talwar Gallery, New Delhi
On February 8, 2018, the Talwar Gallery in New Delhi inaugurated Liquid Lake Mountain – a solo exhibition of new works by artist Alwar Balasubramaniam. The works reflect the shifts in pace and perspective that have accompanied Bala’s recent move from Bengaluru to the countryside in South India. The natural world comes to occupy a central role in all these works – not only as subject matter or even material but also as a kind of collaborator in their creations. On view till May 12, the exhibition portrays a sense of diversity, both in its use of materials and in its interpretations of the concept of transformation.

Ecole Intuit Lab Will Introduce Photography Courses
The Ecole Intuit Lab (EIL), a French institute of graphic design and visual communication, has introduced two new photography courses—A part-time course (starting from March 2018), and a full-time one year diploma (starting from July 2018). The aim of the course is to train budding photographers who wish to hone their skills and pursue photography professionally. The faculty is comprised of names like Jeroo Mulla, Chirodeep Chaudhuri, Srinivas Kuruganti, P Madhavan, Anurag Banerjee, and Kunal Kampani. The course will also offer insights on topics like graphic design, lettering and typography, branding, and semiotics, for better future collaborations with designers. “Although the main curriculum is tightly put together, the classes aren’t textbook based. This follows a philosophy of education through work-like situations, in order to allow more in-class flexibility, as well as to prepare students for the real world,” says Matthieu Foss, Director of the photography programme at EIL.
