But only a few kilometers away from the capital you can discover the new image of this country.
Observing the lives of local residents of the surrounding villages, it seems that the time there has stopped. You will be able to observe it by seeing the wonderful photos of the Indonesian photographer named Herman Damar.
Standing barefoot in the rain with an umbrella-leaf. And when did your children play the same way last time?
The girl's face just glows with happiness.
How much do children need to be happy?
Thousand Islands surround this place are located in the Java Sea and are mainly attracted by marine tourists: divers, windsurfers and water bikers.
This is a world that is not in the guidebooks. It is this world that Herman Damar wants to immortalize in his photographs.
If you only step out the tourist routes you will discover a world that is not in the guidebooks.
Herman tries to catch the charm of places in which it seems that time has stopped. Until time changes them so that they would no longer be recognized.
Despite the fact that Indonesia is a fast developing country, life outside of big cities is much slower.
It is because of the naturalness that these photos are so unique and unusual.
The photographer rarely asked the residents of the suburbs of Jakarta to pose before the camera.
Most of Herman's photographs are spontaneous: just snapshots that depict local residents’ lives.
What children really need is water and branches for complete happiness and ecstasy.
Everybody who wants to take beautiful photos of unfamiliar places, Herman advises "to get acquainted with the customs and understand their approach to life."
"Indonesian culture is very rich. These are thousands of beautiful islands and very friendly people, "- says the photographer.
With his photographs the author wanted to show the power of simplicity. He managed to do this 100%.
Herman Damar believes that photography is the most disinterested kind of art that truly reveals another person.
The main models of the photographer are children. These are children who able to enjoy the most common things and turn into a fun game their everyday life.
This is especially obvious for children who enjoy the charms of their surrounding nature, playing freely in the woods and in the meadows.
It seems that the time has stopped in the suburbs of Jakarta. Villagers haven’t reached the fast pace of life here. You can say they lead a slow life.
By his photographs we can see that life in the Indonesian village goes slowly and calmly.
